    My so-called record company were ignoring me until yesterday`s reply Jon Lee.
    I find them as helpful as a legless fly.

    Hi Mandyleigh ,

    I’m not the the person to decide what should and what shouldn’t happen ;-) . But in the case of record companies and record company people , I would say ; just avoid them … and otherwise ; get rid of them !!!
    Making music and singing are beautiful things … but the industry distributing this art , is a kinda turd soup industry :P . Every breath those people take contains , at least , one lie … and most of them have this King Midas’ ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midas ) kinda gift to turn everything they touch into sh*t :P .
    Hmmm , and there’s another thing I found out … I’ve done quite some gigs and recordings … but the BEST place to play is , for me ; at home !!! No traveling and carrying heavy amps and guitar cases … everything is set up the way I like it , and no need to build anything up , or to connect some gear … I’m allowed to smoke whatever vegetables I wanna burn ;-) … and HEY ; the best coffee of the Northern Hemisphere !!!
    There’s also no need for me to make CD’s . I can upload all songs to a dozen of internet sites … and for the people who want the songs on their MP3 player , I have download links .
    Yep occasionaly you can have to deal with record companies , royalties , and that kinda busseniss . But I think that it is always best to avoid it .
    My dear Alexia Gardner will do a live recording the 27th , and she wants to record 2 songs we made together … so she asked me if I would register the songs , and give her permission to record them . My answer was :” Will you PLEASE register both the lyrics and the music on your name … I don’t wanna deal with that kinda things … and when you have sold 10.000 CD’s , you may send me a plane ticket to Basel , and take me out to a fancy dinner :D :D :D . For less , it ain’t worth the administration costs ”
    I’m not suprised that your “would be record company” is ignoring you … I know the guys ;-) . They never had , and still have no other policy than ; making up stories … and than escape to the next story :P . And at te moment they are in the middle of their NEW ” Make Believe , Wishful Thinking , Public Enemy” story … they’ve just escaped the “Chaos Era” by creating even more chaos ; variable budget , incentives , and custom Artists .
    You know that I LOVE foolish things … but I don’t like plain stupid things . And knowing the Sellaband staff , I think that it is quite stupid to expect any reply at all … and if you do get a reply , there is little chance that it makes any sense .
    Be smart , and don’t expect anything from them … close the chapter . You made a great CD … I play it regulary , and so do Mum and Joris . And it was a nice time , as long as it lasted … I met some good friends , and found out that some people were a lot of bull … and I think that you and Gary may have about the same experience . And HEY !!! without Sellaband we never would have met !!! So , in the end , I am very positive about my Sellaband experience :D :D :D . And I think that I’ve got more shit from that fine community than anybody else ;-) . But it all never got to my mind . I was focused on both my collaborations , and having as much FUN as possible :-) . I never expected anything like ” a start from a career ” or what ever from it .
    But let’s get to the point : forget about them !!! You’ve made a great CD , met some nice people ( forget about the assholes too ) , and that’s it ! Chapter closed ! Just go on with your beautiful life ; you have 3 wonderful kids , your hubby is a cool guy … and there will always be a lot of musicians who will love to play with you .
