This is dedicated to three bootiful guys whom I am lucky to know, let alone be in a band with… Nick, Bruce and Merv.
Nick… a guy who I have known since last November who has been dedicated, funny (especially with his use of pink paper for his musical notes), happy, dry (the best humour), on the button with his lead parts, not to mention pretty cool rhythm (ou la la), warm and friendly, has pretty interesting and eclectic poses when he plays (including his specialty of “The Thinker” in “Keep The Silence…), someone who makes me laugh because he feels he is `too loud`, and an abundance of loyalty. Nick… the guy who doesn`t act like the `normal` guitarist-type. Jeanette is a lucky gal!
Bruce, a man who (from the first email I received and replied to from him) I have had honest and upfront communication and connection with, for his hard-work (especially now as we enter into another stage of “The Karmic Storm” with the presence of selected and subtle backing for songs that need or ask for more instrumentation (other than the drums, bass and guitar) that we will be performing, for his colour and tone and feeling that is implemented into every song he caresses, his sense of humour (sharp and cutting), warmth, care and loyalty. Jill, you are a lucky gal!
Merv, the man who makes me smile because he will nearly always be smiling when I look in his direction (whether playing the drums or not), the accents, feeling and colours that he is weaving through every song, talent of implementing what feel is needed into a song, sense of humour (more and more I am finding out now! That “brown stuff” is a killer, hehehe), warmth, care and loyalty and the awakening in me to really `connect` with what is happening on the drums, its not just a beat to sing to anymore… its a real work of art gliding in and out of the tones. Kathy, you are very lucky too!
Before I met Mick Glossop, Johnny Scott, James Lascelles, Liam Genockey and Tim Harries I thought most musicians were either arrogant, rude, selfish and complete ar*eholes but when I met these guys I was astounded at the professionalism (not to mention talent), mixed in with down-to-earth-ness. I hadn`t encountered this previously…
Nick, Bruce and Merv walk under this umbrella with me and I wanted to thank all three of you for having faith in me, the music and this industry. Thank-you. without all three of you (in recent months) I think I would have lost my total faith in carrying on. I think you understand this.
For what you have done to the music… you have breathed a whole new life, rawness and energy into it, I can`t wait to get out there rocking with you (knees shaking and banging…) and “Devil Walking” is a monster!
Love you all. Bless you guys. XXX
